What distance is this property from Kajaani University of Applied Sciences?
The property is located just a 5-minute drive, 10-minute bike ride, or a 30-minute walk from Kajaani University of Applied Sciences (KAMK). Additionally, there are bus services available, with the nearest bus stop only a 5-minute walk away, providing easy access to the university.
Does the rent include water and electricity?
On top of the rent, there will be an extra charge of 5 Euros/month / person for the garbage disposal and 15 Euros / month / person for water consumption. Electricity and heating are included in the rent, ensuring no additional utility costs for tenants.
If stayovers are shorter than 3 months, there will be an extra charge per month.
Will I get normal furniture like table, chair, cupboard, and a bed?
Furnished apartments or bedrooms are available at an additional cost of 50 EUR per month. This fee covers basic furniture such as a table, chair, cupboard, and bed, but does not include bed sheets or towels. However, for students, we offer room furnishings without the additional fee, though bed sheets and towels are still not provided.
Can I rent the bedrooms for more than one person?
Yes, it is possible to rent the bedrooms for more than one person per room. An additional charge of 50 EUR per person per month applies for each extra tenant. Maximum 2 persons per room.
Is there a deposit needed?
Yes, a deposit is required. The deposit equivalent to two months’ rent.
Which rooms are available?
The currently available rooms are marked underneath. However, availability may change frequently, so we encourage you to contact us for the most up-to-date information.
Can I extend or shorten my stay?
The minimum booking period is 1 month. If you wish to shorten your stay, a one-month notice period is required. If the notice period is not provided, one month’s rent will be deducted from your deposit as a penalty. You can extend your stay subject to room availability. Please reach out to us to check on extension possibilities.
Is it permissible to have visitors during the day/night?
For long-term rentals (over 3 months), tenants are allowed to host a visitor in their room for a maximum of one week. Short-term rentals are not permitted to have extra visitors sleeping over.
Visitors who are not staying overnight are allowed in the house, provided it is within reason, and they remain the full responsibility of the tenant who invited them.
Can I get picked up/dropped off at the airport?
You can book a taxi to the airport using the 02 Taksi application. The fare is typically between 24 to 32 Euros. Alternatively, we can arrange a drop-off/pick-up service for you if requested in advance. Please reach out to us for more information about this service.
Do I have to clean the room after I move out?
Yes, you are required to clean your room before you move out and leave it in the same condition as it was when you moved in. We do not provide cleaning services after a resident leaves, so please make sure to leave your room in good condition for the next occupant.
What types of shared spaces are there?
The property spans two floors, each equipped with a toilet for your convenience, while the shower is located on the second floor. We offer two kitchens: one on the first floor with a fully equipped electric stove and oven, and another on the second floor with an induction stove and microwave. Both kitchens include a dishwasher to make cleanup easier.
You can also use several communal areas: the event hall on the 1st floor (65m2), the chilling zone on the 1st floor (20m2), the chilling zone on the 2nd floor (40 m2), and the dining area on the 2nd floor (25 m2). These spaces are designed to cater to your various needs, whether for work or relaxation.
Does the building have security? What is done to make me feel safe?
We take your safety very seriously. To ensure a secure environment, CCTV cameras are installed at key entry points around the property. Plus, we have people in the house practically 24 hours a day.
Surveillance cameras are installed in common areas such as entrances and hallways. These cameras do not record private spaces and are used solely for security purposes.
All tenants and users of the property acknowledge the presence of such cameras and consents to their use under applicable data protection laws. Recorded footage is stored securely, accessible only to authorized persons, and retained for a limited period. Tampering with or removing camera equipment or storage media (e.g., SD cards) is strictly prohibited. In such cases, the landlord reserves the right to retain the full security deposit to cover potential damages, data loss, or legal risks.
Are there any good restaurants nearby?
Yes, definitely! Our location is conveniently close to Kajaani City Center, where you can find a variety of dining options within a 10-minute walk. For Asian cuisine, you can try Ravintola Wu Kong. If you’re in the mood for pizza, Ada Pizzeria Kajaani and Kajaanin Stadin Chili Kebab & Pizza are nearby. For Italian food, there’s Rosso. If you prefer fast food, both Subway and Hesburger are also within easy reach. Enjoy exploring these dining choices just a short distance away from our location!
What public transportation is available?
There are plenty of buses available near our location. the house is in the city centre, making shops, the train station, and even the swimming pool easily accessible by foot. The closest bus stop – Ilmarintie 1 is a 5-minute walk away, where you can catch Bus Pali. This bus route runs through Pahjolankatu, Optia Palveluliikennepysäkki to Kättö. Additionally, bus stops Taidemuseo P and Kirkko E are within a 10-minute walk. Buses 1, 11, and 3 are available from these stops, providing further transportation options to explore the city and its surroundings.

The closest airport is Kajaani Airport (IATA: KAJ, ICAO: EFKI), just an 8-minute drive from Gamified Cohousing Kajaani.

Will I have privacy?
All residents have a bedroom within the home for more privacy. Residents are to share the furnished common areas respectfully.
What criteria do you use to evaluate potential tenants?
We look for open-minded, considerate individuals who are looking for an opportunity to share a beautiful home with other exciting people.
When/how will you refund my deposit?
Security deposit is typically returned shortly after your stay ends. We will review your room for any excessive damage that would impact on your security deposit return. Normal wear and tears are expected.
What is the policy on alcohol?
It’s your home, so feel free to enjoy a drink whenever you wish, so long as you are respectful of your housemates. If you want to party, make sure this is agreed by all others and within the house rules.
Can I smoke and party?
Please note, the entire property is non-smoking, and we do not allow self-hosted parties. Quiet hours are observed after 10 PM.
Note that smoking indoors is a seriousbreach of contract with serious consequences, resulting in potential immediate cancellation of the contract and withholding the deposit in full.
